Berkeley Hillel is committed to a flourishing Jewish and democratic State of Israel, and applies a strategic approach to the critical area of Israel programming. We believe that Israel is central to the modern Jewish experience and boast a staff that has deep expertise and love for Israel. This year, Berkeley Hillel's Israel program is more robust than ever.

Berkeley Hillel's Israel programs focus on advocacy, culture and education, leadership development and travel to Israel. Highlight examples of Israel programs included speaking engagements by Natan Sharansky, Michael Oren, David Horovitz, and Aryeh Green. Hillel sponsors community wide programs including a Yom Ha’atzmaut festival on Sproul Plaza and Studio 60 (an Israeli Dance Party and fundraiser) during our celebration of Israeli Independence Day each spring. Berkeley Hillel also sends students to Israel each year through Hillel's Taglit-birthright israel trip and Israel Experience trips.

Berkeley Hillel remains at the forefront of engagement on and presentation of a positive image of Israel on campus. In addition to working closely with students to ensure an effective educational and activist program, we maintain a close working relationship with the university’s administration and many members of faculty.
