CEI - Campus Entrepreneurs Initiative
NOTE: Applications for CEI post March 15th.
(12 Positions available)
Campus Entrepreneurs strive to understand students’ interests, passions, and aspirations – and connect them to opportunities that they may find meaningful and engaging. Each Campus Entrepreneur is charged with building relationships with 60 uninvolved Jewish students on campus. To achieve this, the entrepreneurs receive weekly professional development training and are given a budget to plan initiatives that have the dual purpose of attracting uninvolved students and advancing Jewish values. The Campus Entrepreneurs provide on-going relationship-building, especially as follow-up to immersive and meaningful experiences such as Taglit-Birthright Israel trips, Alternative Break trips, etc.
Masa Fellow
Part of the CEI cohort of 12 students, the MASA Fellow is usually an alum of a Masa trip who works at their university to connect fellow students to long-term opportunities in Israel, mostly focusing on study abroad, career development, and volunteering opportunities. To do this they take part in weekly CEI training and professional development sessions.
Marla Bennett Jewish Learning Fellow
The Marla Bennett Jewish Learning Fellowship honors Marla's memory and legacy by bringing Jewish learning to campus. The Fellow will spend a month in Israel studying at Pardes: Institute for Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. Living arrangements, flight and tuition will all be covered. They will return to campus the next year and bring as many opportunities of Pardes style learning back to the Cal community.
FYNtern
The FYNtern creates an environment that helps welcome freshman into the Hillel community. This can be done through programming, dinners, events and one-on-one interactions with freshman. The FYNtern achieves this goal by leading the First Year Network (FYN), a group of 10-14 Jewish students at Cal who are passionate about and dedicated to creating meaningful experiences for incoming freshmen.
